Organization Overview
Iranians of Utah is a nonprofit organization founded to unite and empower Utah’s
growing Iranian community. While inspired by the inclusive and ethical values of
Zoroastrian heritage, our organization is strictly non-religious. We serve
individuals and families across generational, economic, and immigration-status
lines, with the goal of creating a strong, resilient, and culturally rooted
community.
Statement of Need
Utah’s Iranian community is growing yet remains largely underserved. There is
currently no central organization offering cultural programs, educational
services, or social assistance tailored to this population. Many Iranian immigrants
— especially newcomers — face barriers such as language, lack of access to
housing and financial support, and cultural disconnection.
Additionally, second-generation Iranian Americans express a desire to connect
with their heritage, but have limited opportunities to do so in structured,
community-led environments.
This lack of infrastructure puts families at risk of isolation, economic hardship,
and cultural loss. Our organization fills this gap with holistic, community-
centered solutions.
Mission & Vision
Mission: To unite and empower the Iranian community in Utah through cultural
celebration, education, social services, and long-term community development.
Vision: A vibrant, self-sustaining Iranian community in Utah where people feel
supported, culturally connected, and empowered to thrive.

In Memory of Two Noble Men
I met Vishtasb Cyrus, a man deeply devoted to the rich heritage of Iran, only once—by chance, at a gathering. It was during a time when I was weary of the shallow, unfulfilling relationships of daily life.
Yet, what sparked between our hearts was a profound and lasting conversation. He became an inspiration, a reason to move forward.
Our second meeting was at the funeral of that dear soul. Life’s harsh realities did not allow for another exchange.
But the bond of hearts is not broken by time or death.
The wise words of this great man remain a source of inspiration and strength for me.
Esfandiar Cyrus, the honorable father of Vishtasb, carried on his son’s legacy—not only by keeping his memory alive but also by becoming a source of intellectual and moral support.
About a year after Vishtasb’s passing, Esfandiar too joined his beloved. And with his departure, he left a weight on our hearts that words cannot describe.
Esfandiar and Vishtasb hold a place far beyond mere membership in the Iranian of Utah’s Board.
their noble memory will always remain with us.
